Varmaan en ole ainoa, jota nykyinen pääkallojen esiintanssi on alkanut ärsyttämään. Onhan se siistiä että rokkihenkisyys on nyt katu-uskottavaa jokaiselle kuluttajalle, mutta pitääkö sitä irvinaamaa tunkea joka tuotteeseen? Etenkin piraattiviboja henkivät t-paidat ovat tainneet tulla jäädäkseen. Silti, meille avaruusfriikeille löytyi ihan oma pääkallopaita:

It's most probable that during Tähtipäivät 2011 some of the lectures will concern the history of space flight. In response to this, I thought it would be wonderful to speculate (with a splash of artistic license) what the first space flight by human beings would of looked like (the Vostok legacy) and also to speculate how one of my favorite ships would look in low orbit (Soyuz).

Whilst growing up in last decade or so of the cold war, the glories of spaceflight by both superpowers was a glimmer of hope. It was knowing that behind the scenes of politic and military turmoil, science transcended nationalistic tendencies and was united in the endeavors of space exploration.

The first two images are inspired by the beautiful designs of Soviet/Russian space technology. Here we see the robust Soyuz in low orbit.

The final image is of Vostok 1 majestically soaring through her brief maiden voyage. For those that are unaware, Vostok 1 was the first spacecraft to carry a human into space.

I hope to turn these images into some kind of animation, if only the internet would decide which is the best format to view them on. Like an ape with his new found tool made of animal bone, I'm still working on it.

Here's the first of many designs relating to Tähtipäivät 2011. This one is titled, Earth and infant Moon. It is based on several themes written by Stephen Baxter, in which certain characters of his books have the pleasure of journeying through time to witness the many epochs of geological/biological creation and the evolution of intelligent mind in the past, present and the future.

In the upcoming months we will post more designs, so keep watching and enjoy!

Visuaalisuudesta

Oma roolini Tähtipäivien suunnittelussa taitaa olla lähinnä jokapaikan raspi. Hoidan yleisiä asioita, suunnittelen visuaalista ilmettä, koodaan kotisivuja, tuotan sisältöä, jne. jne. Olemme miettineet asioita jo alkuvuodesta lähtien, mutta vasta nyt lienee aika alkaa julkistaa ideoitamme. Itse olen leikitellyt PhotoShopilla jo kauan, jossain vaiheessa tein jotain koulutehtävää varten bannerinpoikasen aiheesta:



Seuraavaksi olisi tarkoitus suunnitella kotisivut tapahtumalle. Sain juuri valmiiksi Turun Ursan kotisivut, joten noilta pohjilta on toivottavasti hyvä jatkaa.
